Double-Upholstered Style with Smooth Swivel Performance.
The 870 Hadleigh Swivel Stool combines a distinctive double-upholstered back with durable welded steel construction for residential and commercial interiors. Its 16-gauge, 1.25-inch tubular steel frame features solid MIG-welded joints, is independently tested to support up to 550 lbs., and meets applicable ANSI/BIFMA furniture standards.
Choose a cushioned seat upholstered in commercial-grade fabric or vinyl, Customer’s Own Material (COM), or a 1.25-inch-thick solid oak or maple seat. Upholstered seats feature 2.5 inches of high-resilience, U.S.-made foam. The Hadleigh’s padded, contoured back features two upholstered sections that can be coordinated with the selected seat upholstery.
The Hadleigh is available with our S-360 swivel for continuous 360-degree rotation using 52 stainless steel ball bearings or an optional Memory swivel that rotates 180 degrees and returns to its original position. Multiple frame finishes, upholstery choices, and wood seat options allow the stool to be configured for a range of residential and commercial interiors.
Built to order in Holland, Michigan, the Hadleigh is available in counter, bar, and extra-tall seat heights, with custom heights available for applications requiring a more specific seat height.

The Hadleigh is defined by two distinct upholstered sections within its steel back frame, creating a layered backrest with visible separation between the upholstered elements. The surrounding steel remains part of the design, providing contrast between the upholstered surfaces and the stool’s welded metal frame.
The two upholstered sections can coordinate with the selected upholstered seat, allowing fabric or vinyl to carry from the seat through the backrest. When paired with a solid oak or maple seat, the design brings together three visible materials—upholstery, hardwood, and steel—within the same stool.
The Hadleigh’s defining feature is its double-upholstered back. The layered upholstered design provides a supportive surface behind the sitter while creating a distinct back profile within Holland Bar Stool’s Signature Steel seating.
The back and seat can be selected independently. The Hadleigh can pair an upholstered back with a fabric, vinyl, or COM cushioned seat, or with a contoured solid oak or maple seat. This allows customers to coordinate upholstery, wood, and frame finishes for residential or commercial indoor projects.
The double-upholstered back is supported by a curved steel base with a circular footring. Counter, bar, extra-tall, and custom seat heights provide options for a range of indoor counter and bar applications.
Clean the powder-coated frame with a soft cloth dampened with mild soapy water, then wipe it dry. Avoid abrasive pads and harsh chemical cleaners that could affect the finish.
Follow the care instructions supplied for the selected fabric or vinyl, since cleaning methods vary by upholstery. Address spills promptly and test any approved spot cleaner in an inconspicuous area first.
Clean a solid wood seat with a soft, lightly dampened cloth and dry it afterward. Avoid standing moisture, abrasive products, and aggressive cleaners that could damage the sealed finish.
