The 810 Contessa 2 Swivel Stool combines the recognizable Contessa vertical slat-back design with durable welded steel construction for residential and commercial interiors. Its 16-gauge, 1.25-inch tubular steel frame features solid MIG-welded joints, is independently tested to support up to 550 lbs., and meets applicable ANSI/BIFMA furniture standards.
Choose from multiple frame options and a solid oak or maple wood seat, commercial-grade fabric or vinyl upholstery, or Customer’s Own Material (COM). Upholstered seats feature 2.5 inches of high-resilience, U.S.-made foam. The Contessa 2 is available with our S-360 swivel for continuous 360-degree rotation or an optional Memory swivel that rotates 180 degrees and returns to its original position.
Built to order in Holland, Michigan, the Contessa 2 is available in counter, bar, and extra-tall seat heights. For dining-height seating, the 610 Contessa 1 Stationary Chair carries the same recognizable Contessa vertical slat-back design into a stationary chair. This style is also commonly described as a spindle back or “jailhouse” back, terms sometimes used for seating with closely spaced vertical bars or slats. The repeating vertical lines give the Contessa family a distinct profile while maintaining open sightlines through the backrest.
The Contessa 2 is defined by its distinctive vertical slat back, featuring closely spaced steel bars that create a strong linear pattern while keeping the backrest visually open. This recognizable style is also commonly described as a spindle back or “jailhouse” back.
The same vertical slat-back design is available on the 610 Contessa 1 Stationary Chair, allowing the Contessa look to carry from dining-height seating to counter, bar, and extra-tall applications.
Clean powder-coated frames with a soft cloth, mild soap, and water, then wipe dry. Use a microfiber cloth and stainless-safe cleaner on the stainless steel frame. Avoid steel wool, abrasive pads, and harsh chemical cleaners.
Follow the care instructions provided for the selected fabric or vinyl and address spills promptly. Clean wood seats with a soft, lightly dampened cloth, then dry the surface. Avoid standing moisture and abrasive products.
